Lip PMU removal: back to your own tone
Whether liner, lip blush or full shading: if the colour has turned orange, purple or too dark, the PicoSure laser gently takes it out again. Lips are sensitive, so I work here with numbing cream and cooling.
The test shot is mandatory for lips
Lip colours often contain titanium or iron oxides. Under the laser they can temporarily turn darker instead of lighter. That's why at the first appointment I only place a small test spot and see how your colour reacts. Only then do I treat the whole area. That costs you a week of patience but saves surprises.
Important before the treatment
If you're prone to herpes, please tell me beforehand. I then recommend preventive treatment a few days before the appointment so the laser doesn't trigger an outbreak. No sunbeds and no fruit-acid peels on the lips for two weeks beforehand. After the session the lips are slightly swollen for two or three days, similar to after pigmentation.

Questions about lip removal
Why do lips need more sessions?
Lip pigments are often densely placed and contain colour mixtures that are broken down step by step. I also work with lower energy here to protect the mucous membrane.
What about herpes?
The laser can trigger an outbreak if you're prone to it. Tell me beforehand and we'll discuss preventive treatment starting three days before the appointment.
Can the colour get darker?
With colours containing titanium oxide, yes, temporarily. That's why I only do a test shot at the first appointment. A spot that has turned darker can also be removed with further sessions.
How long are the lips swollen?
Two to three days, comparable to the state right after pigmentation. Cooling helps.
