Procedure and aftercare
What to expect before, during and after the laser
Most people are surprised how unspectacular an appointment is. Twenty minutes, a brief tingle, and afterwards you walk back to the train with slightly reddened brows.
Two weeks before
- No sunbeds, no sunbathing on the area
- No peels, retinol or fruit acid in the area
- Stop self-tanner two weeks beforehand
- Come without make-up on the day
The appointment
- Consultation, photos, test shot (the first time)
- Goggles on, cool the skin
- Lasering: 2 to 5 minutes per brow
- Feels like a rubber band snapping
- Cool, apply cream, done
The first ten days
- Days 1–2: redness and slight swelling, like sunburn
- Days 3–7: fine crusts, please don't scratch
- Apply a thin layer of cream twice a day
- No sport, sauna or swimming for 48 hours
- Four weeks of SPF 50 sun protection
Why a 6 to 8 week break?
The laser shatters the pigment, but your body has to clear it away. That takes time. If I laser again too soon, I hit particles that are already on their way out anyway and irritate the skin unnecessarily. Patience between sessions means fewer sessions in the end. And yes, you can wear make-up as normal in the meantime, once the crusts are gone.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about the procedure
How long does an appointment take?
Around twenty minutes the first time including consultation, then ten to fifteen minutes.
Can I go to work after the treatment?
Yes. The redness looks like mild sunburn and is usually gone the next day. Just remember: no sauna, no sport and no swimming pool for 48 hours.
What if I accidentally pick off the crusts?
Don't scratch any further, keep it clean, apply a thin layer of cream. Once is no drama. Repeatedly removed crusts can leave light patches, though.
Can I wear make-up between sessions?
Once the crusts are gone, yes. Brow powder and pencil are no problem.
